SPECIAL PROJECTS

Project Care is an outreach project by the UA Inspirational Singers to assist students who are single parents. It came about as a result of learning of the struggles of single parents who are students at the University of Arkansas. Each month, student participants in the ensemble bring can goods for a single parent basket. Those items are combined with additional food, meat, and diapers (if appropriate). The basket is given to a different single parent each month by the President of Inspirational Singers and the Project Care team.

Harry Budd Founders Award – The UA Inspirational Singers honors a student member of the ensemble each year with the Harry Budd Founders Award named in honor of its principle founder. In order to qualify for nomination each student must have been a member of the ensemble for at least one year. In addition, that student must embody the spirit of Inspired. This award is voted on by the students participating in the ensemble and is presented in the spring. Past winners of the award include: Broderick Daniels, Dion Fields, Reginald James, LaTonya Laird, Michael McFrazier, Jelondra James, Comeneci Noble, Maranda Allen, Wade Jones, Tenethrea Thompson, Kristen Barlow, Candace Stafford, Thomas James, LaToya Hobbs, Brian Key, Dennis Toliver, Catandra Johnson.
